Message from the principal - September 2026

Dear Parents and Children,

A new academic year brings a fresh beginning. We are about to step into a 2026/27 school year filled with hope and grace. On behalf of the entire staff of Whampoa Alliance Primary School, I extend our warmest welcome to all of you! To our Primary 1 newcomers and transfer students and your families: welcome to our loving school family. We send you our most sincere greetings!

On this first day of school, we presented every child with a "Back-to-School Blessing Red Packet," wishing Heavenly Father’s word, grace, and blessings to accompany them on this new journey. We also set up an interactive booth, "Collecting Back-to-School Feelings," giving children a platform during this morning’s assembly to share their emotions and hopes about returning from summer break. Additionally, lively inflatable "Smiley" figures were placed around campus to cheer the children on, filling our school with warm, positive energy to kick off a new chapter of learning.

Over the summer, we completed a series of campus enhancement projects to meet our evolving educational needs. Students return to a refreshed environment featuring newly renovated fifth-floor restrooms, updated student lockers in fifth-floor classrooms, new flooring across classrooms on the second and fifth floors, and a newly replaced air-conditioning system in the assembly hall. We firmly believe a comfortable, safe, and inspiring environment sparks curiosity and helps children engage joyfully in every aspect of school life.

Alongside physical upgrades, our teachers actively refined the curriculum over the break. Beyond building a solid academic foundation through core subjects, our team designed diverse, life-wide learning experiences to give students hands-on opportunities to learn and practice. To embrace digital-age learning, teachers are integrating AI technology into lesson designs to boost classroom interaction and engagement. These smart tools help teachers pinpoint individual learning needs, provide immediate feedback, and deliver tailored instructional support—achieving personalized learning so every child progresses confidently at their own pace.

This year, our core theme for values and attitudes is "Rooted in God’s Love, Nurturing Kindness and Filial Piety; Expressing Gratitude and Unlocking Potential." With a focus on "Kindness" and "Service," we emphasize loving others as ourselves and serving with devotion. This aligns closely with positive education and the 4Rs framework (Rest, Relaxation, Relationship, and Resilience). Nurtured by God’s love, we hope our children learn to recognize, cherish, and express gratitude, practicing filial piety at home and demonstrating kindness at school and in the community. In a loving and encouraging environment, children can fearlessly unlock their God-given potential and shine in their own unique ways.

Our theme Bible verse for the year comes from Proverbs 3:3–4:

"Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man."

This passage serves as a timeless reminder that love and faithfulness are the foundation of good character. We guide our students to engrave these values upon their hearts so they may carry them through life and find favor before God and others.

Developing positive character requires daily practice. This academic year, we are introducing the "Eight New Habits of a Refined APSW Student," using catchy rhymes to promote politeness, discipline, harmony, public etiquette, and information literacy. To help embed these habits, our Discipline, Guidance, and academic teams will organize vibrant activities, including campus thematic displays, a creative tongue-twister competition, a poster design contest, and morning assembly sharing sessions. Coupled with our positive reward scheme and campus environment, we aim to help students cultivate self-discipline and embody the refined spirit of a APSW student.

A child’s steady growth relies on seamless partnership between home and school. We believe parents and the school are the most reliable companions on this journey, and home-school cooperation forms the strongest pillar of support. Let us learn together and walk hand-in-hand in educating our children.
