Message from the principal – July 2025
May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
Time truly flies, and we've already arrived at the end of another school year. As the summer holidays are about to begin, I hope that all children and parents will have a well-deserved rest, rejuvenate, and experience new things. May this period be an opportunity for learning, healthy growth, and for living out a brilliant, exciting, and meaningful summer!
Gratitude for Your Partnership: Walking Alongside Us
Time has indeed flown by, and our Primary Six students are now preparing to bid farewell to their alma mater and embark on a new chapter in their lives. As educators, our hearts are filled with mixed emotions – a sense of reluctance to see them go, yet overflowing with boundless blessings for their future. During this period, we have especially felt the trust and support of our Primary Six parents. From the meticulous preparation of the Graduation Dinner to the rehearsals for the Graduation Ceremony, and even through the announcement of the Secondary School Places Allocation results, your enthusiastic presence has been a constant. Your encouragement, affirmation, and mutual gratitude have truly fueled the school's progress. The recent Secondary School Places Allocation results are a testament to our collective efforts, embodying not only the fruits of the children's hard work but also the evidence of your dedicated nurturing, and indeed, the finest illustration of home-school collaboration.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to all parents for your support, trust, and selfless dedication over the past six years. It is precisely because of your partnership that the school can continue to develop, and our children can thrive.
Review and Planning: Collaborating for a Better Learning Environment
As the academic year draws to a close, it is also a crucial time for us to review our various initiatives and plan for future development. To better understand the needs of our children and parent partners, and to assess the effectiveness of our work in various areas, we have engaged in ongoing communication through daily face-to-face interactions on campus, parent-teacher exchange days, report card viewing days, and via phone and email. Furthermore, we recently utilized an electronic questionnaire platform to gather your valuable feedback on school policies and your children's developmental needs.
The results of the school-based parent questionnaire were shared with you during Parent Weekend. I will now consolidate the feedback from our parent partners and the school's future plans into the following key areas:
I. Curriculum and Assessment Optimization: Empowering Our Children to Soar
· Updates to the curriculum and academic assessments for Primary 1, Primary 2, and Primary 4 Science and Humanities subjects.
· Updates to the curriculum and academic assessments for Primary 1 and Primary 4 Bible Studies/Putonghua subjects.
· Promotion of e-learning, information literacy, and the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) learning program.
· Further utilization of AI and electronic tools in Chinese and English subjects to cater to diverse student learning needs.
· Further addressing diverse student learning needs in Mathematics.
· Next academic year, all Primary 3 students will learn introductory Spanish during their Multiple Intelligences sessions, and related fee-based interest classes will be added.
II. Partnering with Parents: Nurturing Our Children's Growth
· Revamping Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting content to establish three main parent meetings: "Transition from Kindergarten to Primary," "Preparation for Upper Primary," and "Transition to Secondary School."
· Establishment of a class representative system for each grade level.
III. Following Up on School Services: Nurturing Our Children's Holistic Well-being
· Arrangements for a new lunch provider for the 2025/26 to 2026/27 academic years.
· Continued follow-up on school bus and school uniform services.
· Establishment of a "BSF" (Bible Study Fellowship) Bible study group.
IV. Cultivating Good Character and Behavior: Shaping Courteous APSW Students
· Strengthening overall student discipline, self-regulation, and cleanliness awareness.
Looking Ahead: Building Dreams Together, Creating a Brilliant Future
Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude once again to all APSW parents for your support and trust. You are our most important partners, and we will continue to work hand-in-hand to build dreams for our children's future.
Let us all look forward to this vibrant new academic year! We eagerly anticipate hearing our children share their various experiences from the summer holidays in the new academic year.
At the same time, I extend my most sincere thanks and blessings to all Primary Six parents and students once more. May you continue to strive, shine brightly, and embark on even more wonderful chapters in your lives during your secondary school journey!
I look forward to witnessing your even more fruitful learning achievements in secondary school in the near future.
I wish all parents good health and family happiness! I wish all Primary Six students a fulfilling secondary school life and a bright future!
