Gifted Education and Overseas Exchange Tours
Our school uses the Hong Kong Education Bureau’s three-tier gifted education framework to offer various advanced opportunities for students with potential. Last year (2024-2025), we were honoured to become one of the satellite centers of Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education.
On April 3, 2025, our school held a “Gifted Education Satellite Center Cooperation Framework Agreement Signing Ceremony and Gifted Education Experience Sharing Session,” officially becoming Hong Kong’s first primary school gifted education satellite center. This marks an important milestone to us, bringing richer resources and opportunities to students, parents, and teachers.
Led by Principal Lee Tak-hang, Alliance Primary School, Whampoa has actively developed gifted education for years, building a talent pool of students, and integrating the three key elements of gifted education—higher-order thinking skills, creativity, and personal and social abilities—into whole-class teaching. The school also actively implements the “Fifteen Strategies for Higher-order Thinking Gifted Education” and differentiated curricula to cater to diverse learning needs.
1. Develop higher-order thinking
2. Foster creativity
3. Train independent learning and inquiry skills
4. Provide opportunities for students to realize their potential
5. Cultivate leadership and teamwork spirit
6. Encourage community service
On April 3, 2025, our school held the “Gifted Education Satellite Center Cooperation Framework Agreement Signing Ceremony and Gifted Education Experience Sharing Session,” officially becoming Hong Kong’s first primary school gifted education satellite center.
Professor Lam Hiu-fung, Chairman of the Board of the Academy, and Dr. Wong Kam-yiu, Director, personally officiated and delivered speeches. In his speech, Dr. Wong said the Academy has dedicated to nurturing for gifted students and actively cooperating with schools to promote gifted education. He warmly welcomed our school into the satellite center network and hopes this collaboration will better support gifted students’ development in the district.
Alliance Primary School, Whampoa will closely collaborate with the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education on the following:
1. Workshop Arrangements: The Academy will provide a series of parent workshops in our district. Our school will coordinate with the Academy to reserve parent weekend and teacher development days for this academic year to help with scheduling.
2. Joint Workshops: The school and Academy will co-host workshops for students, parents, and teachers to further promote the concepts and practices of gifted education.
3. Participation in Seminars: Our school will join the Academy in seminars aimed at providing suitable platforms and opportunities for gifted students in the district to fully develop their potential.
We believe that through this partnership, we can offer higher-quality education for gifted students in the area, helping them thrive in a caring and challenging environment.
